Green Ink #6 "Flame Head"

Acknowledgements for Flame Head

The Beastie Boys
Klezmer Music

I've discovered that The Beastie Boys and Klezmer music are perfect accompaniments to my drawing. Why? I don't know. But if anyone would like to psycho-analyse me, go ahead. I would love to know what this implies.

Green Ink #5 "Free Cat!"

I saw a very vague missing cat sign on a wall earlier this week and I couldn't help but imagine a scam. I'm sure the sign that I came across was completely sincere but when you think about it there is potential for a fantasticaly diabolic scheme there.

Green Ink #4 "Concert Confusion"

I'm spinning Green Ink in a slighly biographical direction this week. True to life in the sense that I did go to the Philharmonic hall recently but... all other aspects of the strip have been fictionalised for dramatic effect.

Green Ink #3 "The Grass Effect"

New comic. This Dunstan. More words and junk coming soon. Can not brain right now.

Green Ink #2 "Mental Floss"

So, Morgan is back! Okay, I did plan to start introducing new characters in the second strip but this idea came to me just before I began and... what can I say? One thing lead to another and I hooked Morgan up again.

Green Ink #1 "Coke & Ice"

Welcome to Green Ink!

This is the first comic strip to be created from a screenplay I wrote for a feature film titled Green Ink. Unfortunately, the project fell through last year, but I will be harvesting its vital organs and assembling a Frankencomic of sorts, incorporating the characters and many scenes from the script. I have no idea where this will lead but let's see where it takes us.

Here we meet Morgan, just one of the many colourful characters of Green Ink, in her first misanthropic adventure...

Comic Strip #3 "God Days"

This concept came to me whilst l was lying in bed two nights ago. It's a joke that's been rattling around my head for a while but has only just grown into a rounded 3 frame strip. I'm realising now that these comic strips are an amazing outlet for ideas that I originally intended to bring to life through film but lacked the resources to produce. It seems so obvious that this is the best method for conveying a good portion of my ideas that are, in a way, too high-concept for no-budget filmmaking...

I'm damn happy that I realised this.

Comic Strip #2 "Staff Parking"

And number 2 is up! I originally planned to get this up last night but I completely underestimated the time needed for colouring and lettering.

Tory

I really felt like I needed to quickly get a second post up to make this blog seem more substantial. I figure this will motivate me to feed it more updates rather than hammering it with a content crash diet.

Comic Strip #1 "Double Win"

After some weeks of over-thinking the kind of content I wanted to post to this blog, I have arrived at the beginning. How did I end up here now? Well, after another bout of over-thinking, along with postponing, procrastinating and out-right avoiding, I created my first comic strip. I was first inspired to put little men in boxes well over a year ago and finally got around to it today. About time, I know.

Anyway, here in strip number one we find our hero, God, proving once again why he just...can't...lose.
